I’ve Moved into My Happy Flat

New Blog New Happy Flat

So I guess you all have been wondering where the hell I’ve been?  So many of you have been asking frantically, “Mary, where have you been? Have you stopped blogging? What’s going on? – talk to me…”.  Thank you all so much for showing your support.  As my tribe of followers, I can always rely on you guys for your continuous support, blog readership and comments.  Although it may seem as though I’ve swanned off without so much as a postcard or a forwarding address I do have an announcement to make on the blog.

I’ve moved over to my brand new blog called The Happy Flat.  The Happy Flat blog has been a long time in the making (I just didn’t realise it at the time).  As you all know there has been so many changes to my blog since studying my masters 2 years ago.  From House of Paul Interiors to HOP Interiors then to HOP Design Studio, this blog has had many a name change over my 5 year blogging history.  My blog’s voice also started to change slightly and with 2 major changes within the last year alone, I really left like the HOP Design Studio had such a limited personal identity to my original blogs core value.

So one day I thought, what would happen if I could just start over.  Forget this chopping, changing, restructuring malarkey, I wanted to start over.  And to be quite honest – the thought of it was so refreshing, like drinking a cold gin & tonic on a sunny afternoon.  So I started brainstorming the new blog format and in November 2015 The Happy Flat blog was born. The Happy Flat encompassing everything that we all loved about HOP Interiors but with a fresh, curiously creative twist.  Essentially my new blog is like walking into my virtual apartment (flat).  It’s a place for you to sit down with a cup of tea, glass of wine, mocktail or beer and browse all things interiors related, fashion, photography, beauty and commercial design, including travel.  Basically, all the good things you’d want to display and do in your own home.  Occasionally visitors will pop in for interviews and I’ll be sharing those conversations over on my blog.  Later on in the year I’ll also be launching a brand new initiative on my new blog to connect our close-knit community of bloggers & readers.  There is tons of intriguing content already on my new blog and I’d love for you all to join me over there and to start following me on my new social media channels.  This means that I’ll no longer blog from my HOP Design Studio blog which will close.

It was just last week when I visited one of the most flamboyant & charismatic hotels in Brighton – The Artist Residence Hotel Brighton.
